Hunger waits for no one.
Homelessness waits for no one.
Let’s move at a speed that matches the need.

A Big Need

In our communities, unnecessary suffering due to food insecurity and homelessness has been going on for too long.

Inadequate Solutions to Food Insecurity Lack Community Voice

These current “solutions” are outdated, lack the voice of the people in need, and end up costing us as a community.

We're currently serving 7,000 meals per week.

This feat is something to celebrate, but it does not nearly meet the need of the 9 counties we serve:

50,000 meals per week.

Lack of Accessible Housing

The Unitē Lodge has provided 5 units of affordable housing to 21 people in one year.

While this is also something to celebrate, Carver County alone will need 3,379 housing units by 2030.

WE’RE ON OUR WAY

We’ve proven that our model works.

Listen: to the people in need of support.

What do the people that we are serving actually need to thrive?

Venture Academy Students created the foundation of our Weekend Meal Program.
They said they needed…

  • Nutritious food
They could see their own families were falling apart due to food insecurity. The “free food” pictured above is not free, but is paid for twice or more in medical costs.

  • Delivered to their door
The nutritious food needs to be accessible by taking away the barriers of time and transportation.

  • To cover the weekend gap
The students were going home Friday afternoon not knowing if they would have anything to eat until they arrived at school Monday morning.

… and we listened.

Disrupt: the current systems that keep people in the cycle of suffering.

We break the cycle of suffering with radical hospitality.

Serve: with love and dignity. With the best of the best. With the highest quality. With the people first.

What we need in 2023

We’re asking for your help, your friend’s help, your neighbor’s help, your community group’s help, to provide 80,000 more meals in 2023.

Every gift matters.
